Matt Smith

Matt Smith is an English actor best known as the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who and as Daemon Targaryen in House of the Dragon.

His other work includes Prince Philip in the first two seasons of The Crown, which brought him a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Born in Northampton in 1982, he set out to be a professional footballer before a back injury ended that path, and he was the first actor in the role of the Doctor to be nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Actor.
