David Tennant is a Scottish actor best known as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, and Kilgrave in Jessica Jones.

His other work includes the title role in the BBC's Casanova, Scrooge McDuck in DuckTales, and Hamlet for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Born David McDonald in Bathgate, Scotland in 1971, he took his stage name early in his career.
