David Hayter

David Hayter is an American voice actor and screenwriter best known as Solid Snake and Naked Snake in the Metal Gear series, from Metal Gear Solid in 1998 through Peace Walker.

He wrote the screenplay for X-Men, which won him a Saturn Award for Best Writing, co-wrote X2 and The Scorpion King, and shared the screenplay credit on Watchmen.

Born in Santa Monica, California in 1969, he returned as Naked Snake for the 2025 remake Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater.
